The Family of 'Imrân

مَا كَانَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ يَهُودِيّاً وَلاَ نَصْرَانِيّاً وَلَكِن كَانَ حَنِيفاً مُّسْلِماً وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ
[3:67]
Abraham had been neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he had been a monotheist, one who submits to God. He had not been of the ones who were polytheists.
مَا كَانَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ	Abraham had been neither
يَهُودِيّاً وَلاَ نَصْرَانِيّاً	a Jew nor a Christian,
وَلَكِن كَانَ حَنِيفاً مُّسْلِماً	but he had been a monotheist, one who submits to God.
وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ	He had not been
ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ	of the ones who were polytheists.
